Don't miss the ongoing week-plus of opportunities to enjoy great music that is Chamber Music Athens.
Most of these wonderful concerts are free and we note Thursday's "DISPERSIONS IN WATERCOLOR" - NEW MULTI-DISCIPLINARY MUSIC AT THE GEORGIA MUSEUM OF ART
At the heart of modern chamber musical exploration is the discovery and creation of new music. Join Amy Yang, Dean of the storied Curtis Institute in Philadelphia, alongside UGA faculty and student performers, as they explore newly created, multidisciplinary works inspired by visual art, poetry, and the environment.
Special guests from other UGA departments join the concert for a true collaboration between the arts and sciences. Actor George Contini reads Ocean Vuong’s Notebook Fragments with an introduction by UGA alumna Ngoc My (Michelle) Tran. David Tilson of the UGA Warnell School of Forestry discusses native Georgia birds depicted in Matthew Schultheis’ new work Avifauna.
