Ibarra is visiting UGA as a Franklin International Faculty Exchange Fellow. At the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, Dr. Ibarra is an Assistant Professor and researcher at the Centre for Local Development (CEDEL), the Centre for Intercultural and Indigenous Research (CIIR), and the Centre for the Socioeconomic Impact of Environmental Policies (CESIEP). He is a founding member of SOSOET (the Chilean Society of Socioecology and Ethnoecology) and works at the intersection of wildlife conservation, local ecological knowledge with Mapuche indigenous and campesino communities, transdisciplinarity and southern Andean biogeography.
