Summer was made for outdoor concerts - and so were the amphitheater and terraced lawns in the Flower Garden at the State Botanical Garden of Georgia at the University of Georgia. Now in its 16th season, the concerts have placed both world-renowned and new-on-the-scene musicians in a world-class botanical environment.
The garden has partnered with the UGA Terry College of Business's Music Business program to also present current and past students as opening acts for each concert.
Bring a picnic, a blanket, your favorite people, and dance in bare feet or relax under the sky while enjoying the sounds of Athens musicians. This year, Freddy's Frozen Custard will have a station where you can enjoy made-to-order sundaes - yum!
Admission to each concert includes beverages and light snacks. The Sunflower Music Series is sponsored by Friends of the Garden, Northeast Sales Distributing, Inc., Athens Coca-Cola, Musicians Warehouse, and Flagpole.

Klezmer Local 42 will return at the first concert of the series this summer, bringing a danceable mix of Jewish folk music. Their album of irreverently interpreted, mostly Jewish-ish inspired music, Fear of a Yiddish Planet, was released last year.
