This installment of the History Department’s undergraduate lecture series is presented by Akela Reason. Professor Reason teaches courses in U.S. intellectual and cultural history in the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, including the history of American cities and material culture. She is currently preparing a study of the politics of Civil War monuments in New York City during the Gilded Age.
