The Center for Research and Engagement in Diversity (RED), a program of the Franklin College of Arts and Sciences, has as its mission to engage in diversity research and outreach in order to enhance individual, institutional, and community learning, effectiveness, and well-being.
In support of these goals, RED offers seed grants to graduate students in the Franklin College who are pursuing diversity research. Recipients for 2023-24 RED Seed Grants are:
- Anthony Parrish, Hugh Hodgson School of Music
- Brittany Belser, Sociology
- Erin Carpenter, Sociology
- Krysten Long, Sociology
- Lacey Moore, Sociology
- Bhumi Patel, Psychology
- Apoorva Sarmal, Psychology

The grants will be used to extend or initiate new lines of research, scholarship, and creative activity that will expand knowledge about the experiences, needs, strengths, and/or virtues of domestic populations that are historically and socially stigmatized and marginalized (e.g., people of color, sexual minorities, women, disabled persons).
Congratulations to our students and thank you for your efforts to creating a more-welcoming environment for everyone on our campus.
